St. Michael's, Kirby-le-Soken

KIRBY-LE-SOKEN (St. Michael) The west tower looks surprisingly large, and important. It is of knapped flint with a quatrefoil at the base. It has massive diagonal butresses with four set-offs; tall two-light bell-openings with one transom; and battlements with flint and stone chequer decoration. The rest of the church looks Victorian following restoration work by Henry Stone in 1870, and nothing of the 1833 rebuilding remains.
